What to expect at MUMC
What do I do when I arrive?
If you have children, ask someone where the Welcome Center is. Directly across from the Welcome Center is the entrance to the children's area for younger children and child care. If you have a child who is second grade and older, ask someone at the Welcome Center where the third floor children's area is.
If you do not have children, you can proceed to the Sanctuary or Herd Auditorium for worship, or to the Welcome Center for Sunday School information.
Worship
You will find several different worship experiences at Marvin UMC. On Sunday mornings we have two traditional-style worship services with piano, organ and chancel choir in the Sanctuary. We also have two contemporary-style worship services with a full band, media and a few surprises in our theater auditorium.
Every second and fourth Sunday night, we have Sunday Night Chapel at 6 p.m. in the chapel. You will experience a short message and wonderful music with singing.
Every Wednesday at 12:05 p.m. there is Mid-Week Meditation in the chapel. You will experience a time of prayer, scripture reading and communion. Everyone is welcome at all worship times.
Children, youth, and adults
There is child care for children ages 4 and under for all worship services. There is Sunday School for all children and youth at 9:45 a.m. There are weekly Bible studies and programming events for all ages. There are ministries and events for all ages at Marvin UMC throughout the week.
Parking
You can park in several places on Sunday morning or throughout the week. There is parking off of Erwin Street across from the Sanctuary and new construction entrance. There is additional parking on the south side of the church off Elm Street. Parking is available for handicap and short-term disabilities as well.
You are welcomed
Before our worship services the greeter team will welcome you into the church building. Our current members will welcome you with smiles and handshakes. They will also be wearing name tags, so you can get to know them better.
You are invited to ask an usher, a greeter or a pastor any question you might have during your visit with us.
Christ-centered traditions for today's world
You can expect to meet people who are following Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. We are not perfect people, but we are transformed through our faith in God.
